The arrival of fall marks the launch of several new arrivals in the business tourism sector. Thanks to the combined efforts of members of the conference committee and their financial partners, Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup has redesigned their conference and event tools. Seduction efforts will continue and many new actions will be undertaken in this sector, which generates almost $10 million in revenue annually.
This summer, Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup worked towards better promoting the region by revamping documents for conferences. A new guide, which includes conference centres, hotels and service suppliers, was created, as well as an exclusive guide for restaurateurs. Now conference organisers will be able to consult in-depth documents which will facilitate the organisation of their events.
Technology to assist conference attendees and tourists
Available in the three conference centres in the city of Rivière-du-Loup, three interactive consoles were installed to improve accessibility to tourist documents. The “Ici Rivière-du-Loup” mobile app is available at any time for digital tablets. You can also find city maps, the tourism guide as well as the restaurant guide for both tourists and conference attendees. Now tourism and conference members will be promoted by this new trendy and environmentally friendly tool. This new arrival complements the launch of Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup revamped website, designed to meet the newest trends in the industry.
New partners, new services
In order to better facilitate the holding of conferences and events in our city, Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup has partnered with several new service providers, restauranteurs and attractions. The goal is to allow clients to obtain as many services as possible directly in the region, and as such stimulate local purchases and the promotion of our entrepreneurs. Clients will be able to take advantage of turnkey services during their events.
New promotional tool
In collaboration with the city of Rivière-du-Loup, Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup now has a new tool to promote business tourism in its region. Indeed, an incentive for conferences and events was recently implemented. This incentive is targeted at event organisers who generate more than 150 overnight stays. Additionally, the event must be new to Rivière-du-Loup or not have been held in the city over the past three years. The first objective is to increase the number of conferences and events while increasing sectoral impacts. The second objective is to promote the cultural richness of the city of Rivière-du-Loup.
