The arrival of spring means transformation for Hotel Castel. The hotel logo will change to a more modern look, and once the weather is good, the façade of the property will be renovated. First, the large lighted fountain found in front of the hotel since its original construction will be removed, and then the sign and main entrance will be modernised.
NEW LOGO
To represent the latest developments and a wind of change, the logo and public image of the hotel will be modernised. Following a long period of reflection by the marketing team, where the mission and vision of the company were repositioned, the goal of the new image is to reflect the hotel’s modern, reliable and elegant characteristics. Much more refined, the new logo includes natural, noble and vibrant colours which evoke comfort and well-being. It’s both classic and modern at the same time. In harmony with the location and identity, it reflects the values of the company, such as respect, integrity, dynamism and its welcoming nature.
The hotel includes five different services that will also have a new image:
The Spa Confort becomes Espace Détente. The Granby Convention Centre and Resto-Café maintain their names, but their image will also be modernised. The two other services, the La Rotonde restaurant and Pub La Tourelle, will undergo significant changes which will be revealed soon.
REMOVAL OF THE FOUNTAIN
The removal of the fountain will mark the start of the work. This is a significant stage in the renewal of the establishment. The monument, which was lit with neon lights and has sat at the entry to the city for decades, is a part of Granby’s history. Arriving at the end of its life, the fountain will be replaced with beautiful lighted landscaping highlighting the depth of the building.
MODERNISATION OF THE FACADE
The current sign will be removed and replaced with one that is higher and bigger, positioned slightly closer to the rue Principale. These modifications will allow buses to enter and allow for better circulation of traffic in front of the hotel. Sidewalks will also be installed to improve cohabitation between vehicles and pedestrians.
After the renovations, the hotel entrance will have sliding doors that will ease access for persons with reduced mobility and clients transporting their luggage. Visitors can go to one side, or the other of the hotel entrance enter the La Rotonde restaurant. This new door, which is solely for the restaurant, is an invitation to local clients to come and discover this restaurant accessible to all. With a budget of $1 million, the façade work will be completed by Granby companies, including Caroline Denommée Architecte, Monique Ouellet Designer, Constructions Ronald Domingue and Paysages VerduRoy. The work will be completed for the 2019 summer season.
PREVIOUS AND FUTURE RENOVATIONS
Many indoor renovations preceded this major outdoor project, including the full renovations of the suites, 60% of bathrooms and the 3rd restaurant used for breakfasts, for a value of more than $1 million. Last spring, an investment of $350,000 was made in the hotel gardens. The outdoor offer was improved with the addition of two whirlpools, a fireplace, a pavilion for marriages and corporate events, as well as beautiful lighted landscaping that can be enjoyed day or night. After the façade, other renovations will follow, including the full redesign of the hotel reception, administrative offices and the Pub La Tourelle.
Hotel Castel is an independent 4-star hotel establishment offering 136 rooms and suites, employing about 100 people. Built in 1971, since then it has welcomed thousands of tourism and business visitors in its rooms, meeting rooms and three restaurants.
