To promote the unique restaurant offer in the downtown core, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole announced the creation of a Round Table for Downtown Restaurant Owners. Created in collaboration with the SDC Centre-Ville, this forum will take the pulse of participants and promote new initiatives to improve influx.
“The arrival of the Convention Centre and Sheraton hotel started a major transformation in Saint-Hyacinthe’s commercial offer. The restaurant sector has been stimulated by the arrival of these new infrastructures. However, travel from downtown to the north sector has had an impact on these establishment’s results,” affirmed the Commercial Development Manager at Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole, Sylvain Gervais. “The downtown core offers a different type of restaurant experience, where you often find the owner on-site. Even with these difficult changes, there are opportunities we hope to identify to exploit through the creation of this round table,” added Mr. Gervais.
Open to all downtown restaurant owners, the creation of this round table has already led to two preliminary meetings with different groups. Other sessions will take place soon to promote the participation of the highest number of restaurant owners. Different subjects have already been discussed, including group promotions, advertising, regulations, patios and many others.
In parallel to this process, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole will complete a full analysis of the restaurant sector throughout its territory to develop a clear portrait of the market. After this year-long analysis, all restaurant owners can consult the results to position their establishment and identify business opportunities.
During the next several weeks, participants in this round table will meet again, and different measures and initiatives will be suggested to increase influx and to promote the exceptional restaurant offer downtown.
