Work Officially Begins on the New Mont-Sainte-Anne Convention Centre!

25 January 2019

On Thursday, January 24, an official ground breaking ceremony was held for the beginning of the Mont-Sainte-Anne Convention Centre expansion and renovation project.

The ceremony was attended by Jean-François Ermel, spokesman for the project and Board President of the Mont-Sainte-Anne Convention Centre NPO, Émilie Foster, MP for Charlevoix-Côte-de-Beaupré and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Mayor of Beaupré Pierre Renaud, Prefect of the Côte-de-Beaupré MRC and Mayor of L’Ange-Gardien Pierre Lefrançois, Director of the Château Mont-Sainte-Anne Hotel Complex Sébastien Roy, Superintendent at Drolet Construction Jean Bruneau and Geneviève Faucher, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Drolet Construction.

The investments of more than $3.7 million will be used primarily to increase the current surface of the Convention Centre to more than 23,000 square feet of meeting space, which is located at the foot of Mont-Sainte-Anne with spectacular views.

The project was made possible through financial support from the Ville de Beaupré, Ministère du Tourisme du Québec, Fonds Résolu, Côte-de-Beaupré MRC, Office du Tourisme du Québec, Investissement Québec and Château Mont-Sainte-Anne.

The Convention Centre is a non-profit organization administered by the Château Mont-Sainte-Anne. It completes its offer by including meeting spaces inside the hotel, for a total of 43,000 square feet available for meetings and events, making it one of the largest resort complexes in the province of Quebec.

The expansion, reconstruction of the exterior facade and installation of an elevator will mark the end of work for this phase of the complex development plan. The Convention Centre is scheduled to reopen on May 1, 2019.

“Modernization of infrastructure and the facilities will allow the Mont-Sainte-Anne Convention Centre to continue to attract convention visitors from around the world, who are sure to fall in love with our beautiful tourist region,” noted Émilie Foster, Member of Parliament for the riding and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance.
