Questions:

No. All Québec Business Tourism services are provided free of charge for convention organizers.

Yes. Québec Business Tourism compiles annual statistics based on information collected from our members to provide an overview of the situation in the cities in our network. See the “News” section for the most recent statistics.

If you are interested in the statistics of a particular region, you must send your request directly to the member of that region.

For a more general overview, check the statistics on these sites:

veilletourisme.ca
This site, which specializes in strategic tourism monitoring, offers Quebec companies and tourist organizations analysis and strategic information services designed to strengthen the industry’s competitive position and help participants adapt to changes in the field. The network is run by the Chaire de Tourisme and the École des sciences de la gestion at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

chairedetourisme.uqam.ca
The UQAM chair in tourism has a mandate to contribute to the expansion and influence of the Quebec tourist industry through research, the distribution of information and the development of training. See the “Search activities” tab for studies on the subject.

bonjourquebec.com
This is the official Quebec government tourist site, with all sorts of helpful information.

Yes. Québec Business Tourism will put you in contact with members in the region you’re interested in. The regional representative will answer your questions and help you organize your convention. There is no charge for this service.

Québec Business Tourism does not compile this kind of list because it is not within our mandate. In any case, that would be a gigantic task, as there are so many events held each year in Quebec. Most of the websites for large convention centres in Quebec put out a list of upcoming activities.

There are many ways to get training in the convention industry at the college or university level. Visit the Quebec Tourism Human Resource Council (CQRHT) site for job descriptions in our sector, which is often associated with the tourist sector. The Futurs travailleurs of the www.cqrht.qc.ca site describes various jobs, the skills required and the training needed. (French only)

Québec Business Tourism does not take on trainees. However, members might be interested in taking on a student for an advanced training course. If you are interested in training, please send your request directly to a Québec Business Tourism member.
