The Astroblème de Charlevoix is so named for the remains of a former crater caused by the impact of a meteor located in the Charlevoix region. With its 54-km diameter, the Astroblème de Charlevoix, is to date the eleventh largest impact site on Earth. As a matter of fact, more than 90% of the region’s population lives in the area of the celestial body’s impact.
